The Heart of Chico Comedy: The Chico Comedy Scene Facebook Group

Stand-up comedy might look like a solo sport when you’re standing alone under a spotlight, but behind every great comic is a thriving, and hopefully, supportive community. If you’re a comedian or a comedy fan in Northern California, one of the absolute best resources you can tap into is the Chico Comedy Scene Facebook Group.

It’s not just a place to drop flyers and posters—it’s the digital hub where our local comedy community actually engages with each other online.

Because things in local comedy move fast—venues change hands, open mics shift nights, and new rooms pop up—the Facebook group is the most reliable way to stay entirely up-to-date. If there is a microphone turned on anywhere in Chico, someone is posting about it there.

Networking and Opportunities

For aspiring comedians, getting booked on your first showcase can feel like a mystery. The Chico Comedy Scene group completely demystifies the process.

Producers from all over Northern California (including Redding, Red Bluff, and Humboldt County) frequently drop into the group looking to hire comics for shows. It’s also the perfect place to network with other comics, find people to carpool to out-of-town gigs with, or organize writing groups to punch up your jokes.

Building a Real Community

Comedy is hard, but doing it alongside people who understand the grind makes it a lot easier. The group serves as a virtual green room where comics can share advice, celebrate each other’s successes, and keep the local scene growing.

If you want to tap into the Chico comedy scene, or if you’re a comic looking to get involved, joining is an absolute no-brainer.
